05About

A small studio, narrowly pointed.

Gaarnika Solutions is a small engineering studio. We build the multi-tenant platforms businesses run their operations on, and we modernize the .NET systems that have been running too long to replace safely. That is the whole practice.

Fixed scope, fixed price

A small number of engagements

What we take on

  • Multi-tenant platforms built end to end, including the operational console and the data model underneath
  • Systems where money moves: billing, subscriptions, credits, reconciliation, double-entry accounting
  • Legacy ASP.NET migrated route by route, in production, without a code freeze
  • The unglamorous parts nobody demos: audit trails, role-based access, rollback, reconciliation

What we turn down

  • Marketing sites, brochureware and campaign microsites
  • Staff augmentation, or engineers billed by the hour into someone else's backlog
  • Work that needs a full-time team on the client's premises
  • Projects where nobody on the client side can decide anything
01What we think

Four opinions we work from.

Stated plainly, because they decide how an engagement actually goes and it is better to disagree about them before signing than after.

Software is judged on its second year, not its launch

Anything can be made to demo. What decides whether a system survives is whether somebody can correct a bad record at 6pm, explain what happened to an auditor, and reconcile the month. We build for that from the start, because it cannot be retrofitted cheaply.

A rewrite is usually the most expensive way to modernize

Replacing a working system wholesale means running two of them, freezing features, and betting on a cutover date. Moving one route at a time is slower to describe and far cheaper to survive. The method is published in full on the services page.

Fixed price is an alignment mechanism, not a discount

Billing by the hour pays us for taking longer. A fixed number for a defined scope means an overrun is our problem, which is the only arrangement that puts both sides on the same side of the estimate.

The client owns everything, continuously

Code is written in the client's repository, in their CI, from the first commit. There is no handover event because nothing is held back. Ending an engagement should cost a contributor, not an asset.

02The obvious question

Why are there no people on this page?

Because the studio is what you are hiring, and because we would rather be judged on work than on biography. You will know exactly who is doing your project, and be speaking to them directly, before you sign anything.

What you can check instead

  1. 01Three of the four projects on this site are named, linked and live. Click them.
  2. 02The migration method is published in full, including the parts that are hard to get right, rather than held back as a sales hook.
  3. 03Every figure quoted is countable: lines of code, test files, admin modules, deployment pipelines.
  4. 04The first engagement can be a two-week fixed-price assessment, which is the cheapest way to find out whether we are any good.
03Evidence

Four platforms you can look at.
